History
Glenwood High School (1958-1975) was opened in 1958 to accommodate the growing population in Plain Township. The vast farmlands of the community were quickly turning into housing allotments. The site was chosen for its central geographic location in the school district and included enough space for a football stadium, administration building and bus garage.

Alma Mater
Glenwood, our Alma Mater dear, Where e'er we go, thy loyal praise we hear. Sportsmanship scholarship, both are of thy fame. Glenwood, greatly loved and honored by thy name. Glenwood, the mighty red and blue, Glad are all our thoughts of you. Sportsmanship, scholarship, both are of thy fame. Glenwood, greatly loved and honored by thy name.
Fight Song
1958-1962 – Original Version to “Across the Field”:
Fight the team across the field Show them that Glenwood’s here, Set the earth reverberating With a mighty cheer, Rah! Rah! Rah! Hit them hard and see how they fall, Never let that team get the ball, Hail, Hail, the gang’s all here, And we’ll beat (insert opposing school here, i.e. Jackson high) tonight! Hail to Glenwood. Hail to Glenwood High. Hail to Glenwood. Hail to Glenwood High. Rah! Rah! Rah! (Repeat first verse)
1962-1975 – Original Composition
On Eagles on,
You know we’ll always fight for thee.
Fight, Eagles, fight
We’re on our way to victory.
We’re gonna win, Eagles win, for
We’ll be always true to you.
We will be loyal to the team of the red and blue.
