As we have researched various topics about Plain Township, we have gathered information on a variety of families. We have also received donated family genealogies. All of these resources have allowed us to build an understanding of the families that built Plain Township. Do we have everyone ever to have lived in Plain Township? No, but we continue to research and add to our knowledge.

We have also taken the families trees we have received and created a tree on Ancestry.com that is accessible. This has allowed us to trace the interrelations of the various families in our community and capture information about them.

Essig Family Tree – There is a hand drawn tree the traces the Essig family from Simon Essig through several generations. An original copy of this tree is housed in the McKinley Presidential Museum and Library Ramsayer Research Center. In 2018, the McKinley Museum was able to scan this piece of history and make copies available for purchase.
